Don't Do These Things
- Skip meals-especially not breakfast! When this is done, the body's metabolism slows to compensate -thus burning calories at a slower rate. When your appetite picks back up, calories are stored as fat-a survival mechanism the body uses.

Follow one of the fad diets. These diets include:
- Atkins diet-a very low carbohydrate diet. In reality all carbs are not bad-whole grain oats and wheat are not (i.e. wheat bread, granola) Bad carbohydrates include white bread, donuts, etc.
- Cabbage diet-this diet does not offer nearly half of the vitamins and minerals our bodies need.
- Focus more on dieting than classes.
- Depend on dieting alone; weight loss will be much more rewarding and successful when combined with a little extra exercise.
- Steer clear from the ultimate carbohydrate -- BEER. Often one night of drinking can ruin a weeks worth of work on your figure. Even one light beer has 70 empty calories in it.
